Welcome to the North Mandurah Junior Football Club

Welcome to the North Mandurah Junior Football Club (NMJFC) also known as the North Mandurah Magpies.

We are a family friendly club promoting a safe and friendly environment for all players, or any ability to learn the skills required to play AFL football that have been growing every year for the last 30 years.

NMJFC is an all-inclusive AFL football club supporting the wider football community in the North Mandurah area and provides the following Football Programs

  • Auskick – Prep Primary through to Year 2 children
  • Starkick – All Abilities football for Pre Primary through to Year 10
  • Junior – Year 3 to Year 6 children
  • Youth – Year 7 to Year 12 children
  • Womens – Miss Maggies (Year 3 to Year 12)

The committee and coaches of the North Mandurah Junior Football Club share a real passion to develop every child’s skills, confidence and teamwork abilities. We strive to maintain high standards and continue to drive the club forward for the greater good of all members and players.

The AFL’s Junior Football Match Guide is a framework that aims to provide the best possible journey for young players to progress their learning and development of Australian Rules football from Auskick through to Junior, then Youth and then Senior football via out Senior Club North Mandurah Football Netball Club. The loyal committee seek to ensure a quality environment exists within the club whilst maximizing the enjoyment, fun and development of all of our players.

We believe a safe, positive and progressive introduction to the game is important and much more likely to attract and retain young players of all abilities within the game for longer. We don’t want to put kids in adult environments too early and that includes large grounds, congested play, unnecessary physicality and an over-emphasis on winning.  The core philosophy of the Junior Football Modified program encourages:

  • Smaller fields and reduced numbers.
  • A phased approach to scores, ladders & finals.
  • A sequential approach to tackling and contact.

Starkick – All-Abilities

Our Starkick All-Abilities program is setup to cater for any child, of any age, regardless of ability, personal challenge (physical, mental or emotional) to take part is one of Australia’s most recognized community and sporting cultures – AFL Football. The focus is primarily on inclusion and group participation and involvement, not specifically the skills and development of players towards elite football level, although the path is there for anyone who wishes to pursue it.
